No. I like Wynn for a boy but I don’t like Winter, either gender.

No, personally I do not think that that is a boy name. I would just name him Winn/Wynne. Winter is much too girly.

I do love Winter for a girl. But I can totally see it for a boy too. It’s not a traditional name, and those tend to be more unisex. Plus, Winter can be a surname and those often lean to the masculine side. You could spell it Wynter (also a surname spelling) with nickname Wyn or even Wynn. That might make it less associated with the season.

Winter feels kinda girly, I don’t think it would suit a boy very well. Just Wynn is a nice name though. But don’t spell it like the word "win" it makes it tacky.

I don`t think it work for a boy. How about Winslow?

Winter is ok, though I really prefer the above commenter’s suggestion of Winslow. Win (or any spelling of it) just isn’t my cup of tea. Too competition/performance-oriented for me. Wynn is a girl’s name. Winter I don’t see as being any more girl than boy.

Yes, it’s fine!

Seems too feminine. Whitaker nn Wit or Winston nn Win/Wit would be so much more HANDSOME.

Thank you for the responses. We don’t like Winslow or Winston or Whitaker. -Shea

The other names we were thinking about was Whitley, Sage, or Briar. -Shea

Sage is adorable for a boy but I must admit I like the others (Winter, Whitley & Briar) better on girls.

Sage is okay for a boy. Wouldn’t use Whitley or Briar though. I like the suggestion of Wynn.

Love Winter for a boy! (and Shea too!)

My wife does not like Wynn but itself for a boy. -Shea

Perhaps I’m biased because I have a Nephew who has it as a middle name. His name is Braeden Winter. So I don’t find it odd at all to hear Winter on a boy.I actually find it far more masculine than Briar,Sage and Whitley.
The only Sage I personally know is a teenage girl.
Briar makes me think of a princess like Briar-Rose in the fairy tale.
Whitley makes me think of the female character on that old TV show A Different World. So not only does it feel like a girl’s name it feels like a 1980s one at that.
Winter would definitely get my vote out of the four!
