Gabby yes vs. Gabby no vs. Gabriella (bri)

And why?I get a lot of weird feedback my daughter’s name is Gabriella but most ppl at school drs etc say Gabby. I’ve gotten negative feedback from some friends and family about the nn. I’m going thru depression so idk if they’re just being mean! I thought about Abby, Ella, Bella, or gg but they don’t rely stick. I guess Abby would be the most logic. I actually would like to start calling her GG then change her name to Grace Gabrielle I need non bias answers she all be starting school soon I’ve even had strangers say they likey Gabriella but not Gabby.

I had a friend who went through something similar with her own name everyone wanted to call her a nickname she hated (this was in high school) it was nothing mean she just didn`t like the nickname so she made up her own nickname that was short so no one could make it shorter. My advice if you have a nickname in mind you want, introduce her by that nickname. If you want to stick to the full name, stick with it. You will have to correct people alot, start by introducing her as Gabriella and make it clear that she doesn`t go by a nickname.

I can’t stand Gabby. It’s a negative trait to begin with and it rhymes with flabby saggy crabby Gabby. Ick. Sorry.

I love Gabriella and I think Gabby is a cute nickname. Not sure what’s not to like about it. People can be so mean. Try to ignore them - what matters is what you like. It’s your daughter. If it’s affecting you that much and you’re not feeling other nicknames, just introduce her as Gabriella. People will go with what you say.
