Luna Cleo vs. Loren Cleo

Twin sister will be Leia Amelia. We are using the initials of two very special women that my husband and I are closest to and they just happen to both have L first names. My grandmother, Lucille "Lucy" Catherine, and my mother-in-law, Leslie Allison. So please don’t be rude about the same first initial thing. We are not willing to switch either initial set around as it just wouldn’t be the same. We will also not be changing the spelling of Loren, we prefer this one. Thanks, Sierra

I went with Luna since Loren is typically the masculine spelling of the name. Luna also sounds better with Leia and flows better with Cleo.

Loren and Leia how adorable!! I love how both spellings are unique and how they flow together it’s gorgeous. I don’t mean to be offensive but I think personally Luna is a current name whereas leia is always going to be pretty. However if you do lean towards Luna a slightly different alternative could be Lena??

We aren’t really concerned whether the names "fit" the same style as each other or whatever so Luna being more trendy and Leia being a tad bit more unique doesn’t bother us. My sister-in-law’s name is actually Melina so Lena would be way too similar to her name. We will be sticking with either Luna or Loren. Thanks though, Sierra

Loren Cleo gmv. It is equally stunning next to Leia Amelia. Luna Cleo does nothing for me. GL

Loren Cleo!

Luna just reminds of of lunacy, lunatics, and tuna... Loren brings to mind Sophia Loren, old Hollywood class. Loren Cleo is the better choice IMO

Luna C. does actually sound like lunacy. On forms where they only ask for middle initials or in school where there is more than one Luna, Luna C. Surname doesn’t sound good. I have to agree with Loren Cleo being a better combo.

Well in school she wouldn’t go by Luna and then her middle initial she would go by Luna M.(which is the first letter of our surname) or Luna and our surname. We aren’t concerned about the "lunacy" thing but thank you all for your input on that matter. I think we will be going with Luna anyways. For some reason my husband has started to not like Loren as much anymore and while I love both equally I am fine with either one. Thanks, Sierra

So you’re going to name her Luna but expect she goes by something different in school? Riiiggghhht. GL with that.

Oh please, 10th poster, way to make a mountain out of a molehill! The only time I’ve EVER had to put my middle initial on any form was on a scantron for standardized tests...and obviously on these standardized tests, you’re not sharing your answers so no one is going to see and tease. Besides, the words lunacy and lunatic come from people erroneously thinking illnesses were cause by the moon. That’s it. Luna means moon in Latin and was the name of the Roman goddess of the moon. That’s the only thing Luna has in common with those words. Luna is beautiful, as is Leia! I think Loren is a bit bland and boring, sorry :(

Good luck :)

I don’t care for Luna, but I would choose a different spelling for Loren.

We are aware of the popularity of the name Luna these days. So we do expect that she will have to go by either Luna M. or Luna and our surname in school. But it’s not like we are expecting her to go by a completely different name, she will still be called Luna either way which will be the name she is given so what exactly is your point, poster 12? We don’t actually know of any other little Lunas in the school district we live in either though. Thanks for your comments, Sierra
