Everett vs. Everly

I fell in love with the name Everly, and my hubby said no way! Then he says to me tonight what about the name Everett? Which do you think is better for a little girl and why? Thanks! ~Megan

I said Everly, but I consider both of those names to be pretty masculine.

What about Evelyn instead?

Everett seriously? Please this is the least hip thing you can do, "boy name on girl gone one more level".

Evelyn over Everly but definitely Everly, it sounds prettier but both I would never use.

We both dislike Evelyn very much. And yea...my hubby said Everett, I was shocked myself. lol. Everly masculine? I never heard of a boy named Everly. Have you?

Well.. if you like the Eve sound, could you just use Eve or Eva or even Evie?

Otherwise, I’d say get a baby name book, and go through the book. You each make a list of the names you like a lot (separately). Then you go through and condense your list down to 10 or 20 names you’d be happy using.

Then you give your list to your spouse, and they get to cross off the names they hate :)

Choose from what is left :)

I love Everett, but for a boy, sorry.
Everly is different, but I would difinitely say it’s more feminine than masculine.

I don’t like Everett as it reminds me of the UK comedian Kenny Everett. Everly is much more girly.

I like the Avret for a boy, a mix of Everett and Avery. Avery is a girl or boy name, maybe he’d like that. But the more feminine spelling of Everette works too. You could say everynight at bedtime "I love you for "Everette!!!"
