Is vs. Hermoine vs. Usable?

Is Hermione usable? Will people make fun of her and call her Hermie the hermaphrodite? What are the best nick names? Awesome middle name options? Basically all feedback welcome just no name calling. Thanks.

Hermione is definitely usable. It’s beautiful! I would never think of the hermaphrodite thing, kids won’t know what that is anyway. As long as you don’t mind the Harry Potter connection!

Nicknames: Mione, Minnie?

Hermione June
Hermione Kate
Hermione Alice
Hermione Joy
Hermione Violet
Hermione Juliet

As long as you stay away from Hermione Jean (Hermione’s name in the HP books) you’re fine. Good luck!

Sure, it’s usable! I never would have thought of "Hermie the hermaphrodite..." I don’t think it will be a problem, especially since the term is going out of date. I think the main connection is Harry Potter, and, honestly, I can think of very few characters I’d rather name my daughter after, and I read a LOT. Mya, Nia, or Hera could be cute nicknames. MN suggestions:

Hermione Colette
Hermione June
Hermione Dahlia
Hermione Raven
Hermione Bronte
Hermione Beatrice/Beatrix (NN Minnie Bea? CUTE.)
Hermione Julia
Hermione Jewel
Hermione Bronwen
Hermione Jessica

Good luck!

We really don’t mind the Harry Potter connection, we like it even just as we do that fact that the name comes from Greek mythology. We do like jean but agree that the connection with the books is too strong. From your list we like: June, Kate, and Alice. Thank you for the feedback.

Hera is an awesome nickname, also from Greek mythology. We like, Raven, Beatrix, Bronte, Bronwen, and Dahlia.

Would you consider it as a middle name? Its a pretty and mature name. I think could be tough on a young child. If decided on a first name, Minnie is adorable. Good luck

Hermione is a name that is thousands of years old... and clearly if it’s been around this long, no one is going to ridicule it out of use. Heavens sake, what child even knows what a hermaphrodite is???

I love Hermione! I love the nickname Hero for it but I know that’s not everyone’s style so Hera, Mya, or Minnie could also be cute. Hermione Alice is my combo.
