Ariel gmv.

Arielle is the French variation of Ariel. They're pronounced differently though - Ariel = AIR-ee-ul. Arielle = ah-ree-EL. Good luck!

For a girl, Arielle is the original form.

Ariel was originally masculine. Shakespeare used it for a male character but it came from the bible where it was used as an alternative name for Jerusulem.

You still see Ariel from time to time on males. I think Arielle is best for a girl.

I would say them differently on first glance. I would say Ariel like the princess, AIR-ee-ul. For Arielle, I would say are-ee-ELL. I like both pronunciations, though. I know Ariel is originally masculine but it is very rare to see it on boys after the princess.
