Don’t do it! And unless people think of the singer--who was bald and not the prettiest--they won’t know how to pronounce it.

I love the meaning, but keep in mind that many people will misspell it and mispronounce it. Your daughter will have a lifetime of trouble having to constantly spell and pronounce it for people. Maybe use it as a middle name instead?
Rose Sinead
Jenna Sinead
Katherine Sinead
Elizabeth Sinead
Good luck!

I personnaly believe that most educated people will know how to pronounce it and really I mean my names Vanessa and people often misspell and mispronounce it...even if its pretty straight forward
If you love the name go for it!

I wouldn’t do it. The only thing that comes to mind when I hear that name isn’t even her music, it’s her "fight the real enemy" statement and tearing up the pope’s picture. Bizarre.

I like Senead Olivia or Isadora best ...go for it if you love it :0)
I consider myself fairly educated and I never know how to say this name (until recent years I always thought it was "Sin-ee-ad"). To this day although I’ve heard the proper pronunciation, I can never remember it. It’s a fine Irish name, but unless you are surrounded by Irishmen just be prepared that many people will mispronounce it. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s ok, I guess.
