It IS more of a boys name, but in the end she is YOUR child, so YOU get to name her what YOU want. If needed, maybe use it as a middle name.

Statistically and historically it is a boy name. It's the 68th most popular boy name right now while it's popularity on girls is outside of the 2800's. It's been in the top 100 since 2012 for boys and has never gotten into the top 2500 for girls.

You can, of course, still name her Easton. But it is a boy name.

If you and your husband LOVE the name than you should use it and not give any thought to what your mom or strangers on the internet or anyone else for that matter thinks of your name choice. Because you made this poll and asked the question, I'll give you my opinion and that is that I don't personally like the name Easton for a girl but again, it's your child not mine. If parents are naming their girls Parker, Elliott, Logan, Evan, Blake, Sawyer, James etc I doubt your daughter will be the only girl in her class with a bnog as they say. GL

Well then there you go, she will fit right into the family.:) I imagine your mom had an issue with your niece's name too, no?!

Easton is so masculine it pretty much should be a boy name and only a boy name. It does not fit in well at all for a girl's name with your older kids names. And I just think it's tacky to use names that are pretty common on boys or that are actually boy names on girls. It's not cool and it's not "empowering" either. It's taking strong, masculine names and making them too girly for boys to have. Look at Mackenzie for example, which literally means "SON of Mac," I've asked my expecting friends if they would ever consider Mackenzie a suitable boy name and all of them flat out said N-O and told me I was insane for even asking the question. It's "too feminine." We have anough unisex names already we don't have to keep making more. There are plenty of strong female and already unisex names out there. No need to slap a boy name on the poor thing.

I think 15 votes, and all of them being for "No," should easily bring light to your mother's concern.

For what it's worth, I have always preferred Easton for girls & Weston for boys, and I think Easton & Emery would make a nice sister sib set. Colson, Emery & Easton sound nice together, as well. GL!
