Misha? vs. Misha?
What do you think of the name Misha? I really like it. My husband says it's nice but feels like a nickname to him. The only fuller form we have come up with is Mishelle, but neither of us like the name or that spelling for it.

It's a Russian nickname for Mikhail. You could go with Michaela "Misha."
If you were to go with Michelle, there's no need to misspell it just to match the spelling of the nickname.

Yes, Michelle is much better
I hadn't thought of it as a nickname for Michaela. I actually really like that idea. I know Michaela was on his list of names, too, so that might be a really good option for us. Thanks!

Mischa is how I thought it was spelled and I thought it was a male (Russian?) name.
However, years ago I had a coworker whose daughter's name was Misha (not sure of the spelling they used but it was said MEE-sha) so I guess you can use it as a girl's name in the US.
I would probably just do Misha rather than trying to fabricate some longer name that you may or may not like.
You could do something combining fn-mn, like Mina Shannon nn Misha, or something like that.

We've never heard or seen it as Mischa, and the only Misha we knew was a woman (it was not a nickname for her), so we assumed it was a girl's name. I think I like the idea of it as a nickname better because that would give her a more formal option if she didn't care for it later on. Thanks.
