Ashton Kaydence vs. Ashton Elizabeth
Ugh, this is too hard. We have been set on Ashton for some time now! I know it’s a boy’s name, but I know plenty of girls w/ this name and we are FOR SURE going to use it! Anyways.. we thought we had settled Ashton Aubrey.. and then Ashton Elizabeth.. but now we really like Ashton Kaydence/Cadence McA (first three initials of last name!) but I don’t know if it sounds right, WDYT?!
The Top Baby Name is...
Ashton Kaydence McA
Ashton Elizabeth McA

I would go with Elizabeth. Ashton is already trendy, and I don’t think it’s fair to stick a kid with two trendy names, leaving them nothing classic to fall back on if they need to add some weight and dignity to their persona someday.

I think that Ashton Elizabeth sounds far better
to fem it up I would spell it Ashten or Ashtyn
Ashton Elizabeth has more gravitas. Nobody would take Ashton Kaydence seriously. "Attorney General Ashton Kaydence McA____." I just can’t hear it. Kaydence has about as much gravitas as Bambi.

Don’t fem it up - it dumbs it down.

I disagree that it dumbs it down because its just making a masculine name more feminine...entitled to my opinion :)
Nobody said you weren’t.

I completely agree with the first and fifth comments....and as for the second comment, please don’t name your child Ashland. It sounds like a made-up town. I’m not a fan of Ashton, but at least it’s a real name...but I agree that you should give her a more dignified middle name, rather than 2 uber trendy names that nobody will like anymore in a few years.

Making a name feminine doesn’t dumb it down you morons. That’s an insult to women! I like Ashton Cadence the best. Jessica J is right. If you are giving her a man’s name first name then you should give her a woman’s middle name!

Ashland is actually a real town in Oregon...but I think it’s a worse name for a person. I don’t really care for Ashley or Ashton, but the T sound in Ashton prevents the name from sounding as slushy (SHLuh, SHLuh) as Ashley or Ashland. I hate that shluh sound in Ashley.

Feminizing it isn’t what dumbs it down. Giving it a dumb, illiterate-looking spelling is what dumbs it down.
