I think it’s rather silly to change the spelling of a name, especially when just using a Y instead of a vowel. It looks trendy and makes you seem like a 15 year old and not an adult about to have a child. She’ll have to spell it out her entire life. I know that my family still doesn’t spell my name correctly and it’s only my nickname. Growing up, it bothered me that some of my friends didn’t even remember that my name was different. She’ll be Lauryn with a Y, like I’m Alix with an I.

I don’t like either but I’d choose Lauren Mackenzie over Lauryn or Stephanie. If you keep the spelling, I’d switch it completely and go with Stephanie.

I like Lauren Mackenzie with an e, but with the y, I just don’t like it.

I love Lauren Mackenzie, but agree with first poste (although not quite so harshly), I never liked being Cathy with a C. Even though it’s not so uncommon now, it sure was way back then.....

Lauren needs to be spelled Lauren. It is a classy name that looks trashy with the Y. I like Lauren better than Stephanie.
