I like Alena. Allen(a) sounds like Alan-uh.

It will get mispronounced all the time

I know it will look like that but she will most likely go by Alle most of the time. I like the spelling of Alle better than Ale, Allee, Alee,Ali, and Alli.

I think Allena is cute.. but they are right about the spelling.. It will get mispronouced the rest of her life. Maybe Alaina might suit better and call her Laini for short.. or Allison and call her Alli

Allena is pronounced on babynamesworld as ah-LAY-na not UH-lee-NA.

I know this girl who has this name and that is how she spells it and who is going to only see her spelling and say it that way. Most of the time you are not even going to know how to spell someones name. She will most likely meet people and telling them her name not spelling it to them. I dont think it would matter how you spell it.

What about Aleena nn Allie? I think Alle would be pronounced like Al all the time, and it will become very annoying to her later in life. I think the name is beautiful, so why not choose a more traditional spelling? Either way, good luck.

I think it’d more likely be pronounced Ale that Al. Spell it how you want.

Is the spelling that big of a deal? I was just wondering what you thought about the name itself. Not the spelling. I am pretty sure that is how I am going to spell it. It will be pronounced (Uh-LEE-NA) and her nickname will be spelled Alle like in her name.

My name is Tawny, which is not that hard to say nor spell and even when I tell others my name they mispronouce it. I used to work at a grocery store with my name clearly visible for everyone to see and it still got butchered. So spelling can have a huge significance as well as the name in general. I just know first hand how annoying it is to tell someone your name or have them read it and they screw it up five or six times and then they completely give up. So I’m just saying.

There are so many different ways to spell all kinds of names. If you spelled her name Alli, Allie, or Alley, she’ll always have to specify anyway. My name is Shelley and I ALWAYS have to spell out my name."That’s with an E-Y." It’s horrible and annoying, but I still like my name.

In order in vote on a name we must know how the heck you say it, spell it and if it will cause problems down the road for him/her. Also, when you post a poll you leave it open for all discussions including spelling. Which is a big ’deal". So based on on all the above factors, I dislike the name. You asked.

I don’t alleena at all! However, i find Elena/Alaina to be pretty alternatives.

Elena or Alanah but not the spelling you have, i think Zachary and Elena or Zachary and Alanah will work well
