what do you mean by it depends on the name? Say his name was Jordan or Jayden?

Well, if the child should get a say it it (if he’s old enough). But if the name was popular (when he got it) for a boy, then all the kids in his class and whatnot wouldnt find the name girly, nor should a lot of the people. If his name was Jordan, hes fine. Jayden (being its way too popular on boys now) is also fine. GL!

I think both Jordan and Jayden are fine on either...Ashley, Peyton, etc I don’t think works. I actually hate unisex names and I like Jordan on a boy. GL!!

It depends how old the child is and how he feels about his name. Changing his name is kind of drastic. Especially considering lots of people use unisex names now for boys and girls

I wouldn’t change the name.

If it bothers the son, maybe there is a nn he can use. If it’s something like Jordan, maybe he could go by Dan or Danny, Jayden could go by Jay.

If the kid is really insecure about it, then let him change his name. Of course, then he’d also probably have to change schools since everyone would already know him by his girly name...
Unless the kid was named Ashley or Lindsay or something that used to be for boys but now is really feminine, it shouldn’t matter. If his name is Jamie or Jordan or something, it should be fine.

I would let him decide. I made sure I gave my son a middle name that would be nice and "normal" if he didn’t like his first name.
