Lily Mae vs. !!!

Weve decided on the name Lily Mae for our daughter that is due next month. We were just wondering what everyone thought of it. Please be honest, we really want to know if anyone likes this name or not. My husbands parents don’t, but we think its adorable. What does everyone else think about it?

I love it! It’s gorgeous. But one thing I would do is make a more formal name. Like Liliana for example. Or Lilah. I have those on my list. And then use Lily as a nn.

I think it’s cutesy, and sort of country.

I love the nn Lily or even the full name Lily, but I’d rather see it with something more sophisticated.

I love it, and in my experience your in-laws never like the names that this generation pick because they reused about 30 for every baby. Ah the days when you could call your baby Nancy, Joan or Mary even if your friend did too...

Love the name, it’s precious!!!! It’s your baby not your in-laws, so you should choose the name you like. Good luck!!!

reminds of Lula Mae (Breakfast at Tiffany’s) which makes it sound...a little "hick" to me

I love the name-it’s so pretty just as it is.I don’t know why people think Lily needs a longer name it’s not a nn it’s lovely on it’s own.
