Ava is extremely extremely overused and common. Im so sick of hearing it everywhere! It seems like every baby girl I know is named Ava. Emerson is absolutely adorable and so is Anabelle. It really depends on what you are going for because Emerson is more trendy and Anabelle is more old-fashioned and classic.

I think Emerson is becoming the new Ava. 2009 top names will have Emerson and Brielle on it. Those names are on here every day!

I love Ava, I have a little 7 yo cousin who’s named Ava. It’s a cute name, very princessy. Emerson, to me personally, sounds more like a boy’s name. Anabelle I’m not crazy about at all--too old fashioned I think.

Ava is my favorite! I love the name, which is also my niece’s. I am an elementary school teacher and I do not have any students with any of these names, although I know Ava is growing in popularity. You need to pick what you like the best; I’m 9 months pregnant myself and I think it’s silly when people pick baby names just to be different. Who cares if more people are using the name if you like it? Emerson makes me think of the college, and I think people would not know if it was a girl or boy’s name.

I like Annabelle. I think it is very sweet, and when she grows up she has many names to choose from, Ann, Anna, Annabelle! Ava is WAY overdone. There are 2 Ava’s in my child’s gymnastics class and 2 in her preschool. You child will be "Ava G" (or whatever your last initial is).
