I like Allie, I still don’t know how to pronounce the full version even with the pronunciation up there. It’s a bit confusing.

It starts out like the Ale in Alexandra and ends with gae-nee. We don’t want to change the spelling though because it is the name of the mountains we love. The pronunciation is the only thing we are worried about with it, like you said.

I think Allegheny is cute for a girl, and it works as a name. Mexico does not work for a name, so that would be one reason not to name your kid Mexico, right? Allegheny is pretty. Shasta sound a little cheap to me (sorry, I’m not trying to be rude or offensive). I say go with Allegheny. It’s very pretty
