Makes me think of Detective Brenda Lee Johnson from the Closer...but I like Kyra Sedgewick...and you’re right, its not overly popular like Mia has been lately.

We are thinking of using Amaya with the nn Mia. We’re not sure though. We think Mia would be what she goes by all the time anyway. Would it just make it harder on her if we made it Amaya and called her Mia all the time? She’d have to explain to people that she uses a nn...

Yea, that’s one reason why we’re second guessing Mia. We really think Brenda works for a grown woman, but not a cute little baby. Mia works for both, it’s just it doesn’t work as good for a grown woman, as Brenda does. And she’ll be a grown woman more then she’ll be a child...

Amaya Nicole sounds better because its a three syllable fn with a 2 syllable mn but what really matters is the variation in syllables between fn and ln :)

Amaya doesnt really need a nn because it flows off the tounge so easily

Our last name is 2 syllables. Does Amaya sound better to you?

Well we really love Mia. So if we name her Amaya she will be nicknamed Mia. Maybe not all the time...but sometimes.

My husband just got back home (lunch break he always comes home) and he very much dislikes Amaya nn Mia. He likes Mia by itself alot better. Amaya is kind out now...

This is so hard. See, I’m leaning towards Mia. From the start I was. But my husband likes Brenda. He says he can live with Mia, but he wants to see what you guys think. Like if you can change my mind. :)

I dont know Mia is very cute but Brenda is not so great. I know a girl named Brendette who is very cute. Well she is 20 or 21 but still very cute and sweet :)

Like I said, my husband hates Amaya. He said he can’t live with Amaya, nn Mia. It does sound better, it’s just, we believe having us both be really happy with the names we give our children. He likes Mia, alone, it’s just likes Brenda a little more. We are both now leaning towards Mia alone.

I think that you should both just find a name that you both love
