Salvia vs. Too Strange vs. Appropriate to Honor

My mother’s name is Livia and my mother-in-laws name is Sally. We wanted to honor the two of them by combining their names for our daughter’s middle name. We came up with Salvia, which I think can totally be passed off as a normal mn. My problem is that I know Salvia is a drug, and wonder if anyone will see this as an issue. Let me know what you think, or if you have any other combinations we can make out of the two names!

Just phonetically it’s completely okay, but I wouldn’t use it because of drug. Why don’t you give her two middle names, or a hyphenated one, Sally-Livia? What first name do you want to use?

I would use Sylvia or Silvia. Salvia looks like Saliva
to me.

I like the name Lily a lot, but I also like Sylvia and think it’s closer to the two names you were aiming for. Saliva was the first thing I thought of too when I saw it. Sorry.

Salvia reminds me instantly of Saliva...Sylvia is much nicer and feminine. Plus your daughter will be more likely to keep the tradition with a less made-up name, IMO.

It made me think of saliva. Ew.
Then I considered it was a hallucinogen and it made me think the child’s parents were most likely drug users (a belief which would factor into my every interaction with the child).

thanks, i know what salvia is.
Any more suggestions that incorporate both names? i don’t want to use sylvia because i don’t like it and syl doesnt sound anything like sally..
