I like it, very pretty. You don’t have to give her a nn if you don’t want. Michael/Andrew/Benjamin often get a nn, but I know plenty that go by the full name because that is what their family has always called them. I agree, I like Gabrielle better than any of the nn available too.

Whichever nn you hate the most is the one people will start calling her in kindergarten whether you like it or not. And then in middle school they’ll come up with an even worse on that you hadn’t even thought of yet, and you’ll dream of those happy days when she had her former unpleasant nn. :-/ You just cannot expect to control these things. New parents always think they can, not pausing to remember that, oh yeah, back when they were 12 they were hardly interested in doing things the way Mom had in mind.
