Leah Renee vs. Avery Renee

Hi, I really want to name my first daughter Leah (lay-ah) but my husband isn’t so sure about the Star Wars connection. I also like the name Avery but I’m not as crazy about it. Renee is a family name and is to stay. Carlucci prounounces Car- loo-chee. Thanks, Kaia and Nicholas

I think Leah sounds nice with your last name, though I personally like the name Avery better. The think is when I saw your spelling I assumed it was Lee0uh. Have you thought of spelling it differently? Maybe Laya?

Leah will always be pronounced as Lee-uh because thats the way it looks! You have to spell it different if you want it said a different way. I like Avery more though.

My vote goes toward Avery
I like the name LEE-Uh. However, the name pronounced Lay-ah (Although I like) will lead to teasing in high school. I want to Lay ya type thing. Sorry, it is just something to think about.

How about Laiya? We are considering that spelling.

I voted Leah, but if you going to pronounce it that way I would spell it either Leia or if you prefer Laiya that is fine, because as other poster have mentioned Leah will be pronounced Lee-uh.

Laiya would work! I do prefer Avery though
