Kerry vs. For a Girl vs. Please read below
Hi! I've always really liked the name Kerry for a girl. Does it look too masculine? Too old fashioned? My mother says "Kerry" is usually how it's spelt on a man. My husband & I both have Irish roots and he suggested "Kerri" or "Keri" because they still have Irish origins and are more feminine spellings. The rest of my family prefers the "C" version of "Carrie." My husband doesn't care too much, but he was recently told by a buddy that Kerry (no matter what spelling) is too out-of-date to use on a baby now. That's kind of why we like it though. What do you think? Which spelling (if any) do you prefer? We'd appreciate some feedback! Thanks

I like the name. I say Kerry and Carrie differently. keh-ree vs. care-ee (like the word carry)
Carrie definitely seems older, like Little House on the Prairie. Kerry seems fresher to me. Kerry is the default spelling I'd use (like the surname), but I like it Kerri too. Keri could work but I like the double R better.

I like Carrie - I think it's old-fashioned and sweet. Kerry seems much more 70s to me but I'm not sure where I get that. Definitely use one of these spellings and don't throw in a random I.

I've only ever know Kerry's who were female. I din't even know you could have it as a boys name. I'm from the UK.. maybe it's just not used as a male name over here very much..

It has fallen of the top 1000 list for boys as of 2004. It was never extremely popular, so if you like Kerry, go for it. I know a four-year old girl named Kerry.

When I see Kerry I think boy but love the idea of Keri!
I see someone else suggested Kerrigan with the nickname Kerri. Another longer name idea is Karington/Carington
I agree a bit that Kerry feels out of date. Carrie seems more like a classic and Keri/Kerri/Kerrie feels fresh and spunky!
