Amara vs. Amora

When I was a kid there was a family across the street with a daughter named Amara, who was my absolute role model/"big sister" for a few years! When we moved we lost touch with them but I always loved the name. (Only Amara I ever knew.) I am now pregnant with my first, a girl, and I still love this name. Husband likes it but doesn't love it and I think it's important that we find something we both adore. He put the "o" in and loves Amora. I don't love it yet and wonder if we should just go with something else entirely. What do you think? Thanks

I like Amara much more than Amora. I do think it's important that you find something you both love, but I will say that if the name is too special for you to let go of, I bet he could learn to love it. Especially if you find a middle name he loves.

Amara is nicer than Amora to me. You might also like Amaya, Ama, or Mara/Maura.
