I prefer Isabel. Less letters but still gives you the same sound is always a plus imo.
I dont see why you couldn't call her Isabella as a nickname.

Name her Isabella and call her Isabel for short, but not the other way around. It will just confuse her if you add the additional Luh sound when it's not there.

I think Ethan AKA JulieQuinn misunderstood the question. If you name her Isabella, you can most certainly call her Isabel, but it really does not make sense for her to have a longer name as a nickname when Isabella is a variant of Isabel.
