Percy vs. Percival vs. Suggest middle names
Husband and I really love the name Percy. Another top pick of ours was Hugo and Percy feels similar but not as popular. My question is I'm really not sure whether to go with the longer version or not. I love traditional names and would almost always go with the longer name and shorter nn. But I don't know how I feel about Percival? Our last name is Andrew. Percy Andrew seems to work better than Percival Andrew to me. Also please suggest middle names! Currently thinking Percy Oliver or Percy James but really depends on if we go longer or shorter.

I think Percy works as a name by itself. If you like Percy better than Percival then name him Percy.

Percival, nn Percy, would be great too. But Percy can easily stand on its own and you aren't in love with Percival. Percy Oliver and Percy James work well. Other ideas:

Yeah normally i would suggest a longer name with the nickname, but in this case i think Percy flows better with your surname than Percival.
