Lilia vs. Liliana vs. Lilith
Hello! We are trying to decide which name is the nicest for the nickname Lily. Ever since the show How I Met Your Mother was released in 2005 i have loved the name Lily. Sadly the popularity of the name is quite off-putting when matched with our surname as we have a top 5 most popular surname. So to liven it up a little we like the idea of Lilia, Liliana or Lilith with the nickname Lily. We do slightly hesitate with Lilith due to the bad reputation it has however we are non-religious so don't know if this is a problem in the real world. All ideas and opinions are welcome!! Ps, we do not like Lillian due to us not particularly having good feelings towards a Gillian, its a little too close. Thanks!

I love the name Lilith. I think the demon connotations are only there because people are sexist. The feminist history behind the name is cool. That said I can see how it might freak out some grandmas who are casually Googling it.

You hesitate about Lilith but not about naming your daughter after How I Met Your Mother? LMAO.
Terrible TV show aside, Lily is a great name. Lilith is beautiful, I've known a few Liliths and no one balks at the name or even picks up on the biased association.

I loved How I Met Your Mother haha
This week I was talking to my friend named Zac Johnson, and he told me while he doesn't DISLIKE the name Zac, he wishes he had a different name because, paired with his super common last name, he finds himself often lost in a sea of Zac Johnsons. My point being, I think it's a good idea to use a more unique name with the nn you want :)
Liliana gmv. Other ideas: Galilee, Lilyan/Lilian, Lilibeth, Calila, Lileona, Delilah.

Liliana is pretty. Lilith has too many negative associations with people for me to be comfortable using it but hey I guess that's different for everyone.
