I like both, but if you're going to call him Quinn, mind as well name him Quinn. Yes, it's rising in popularity for girls, but I'd consider Quinn as one of those names that works great for either a boy or a girl.

What about Quincy? Still contains Quin, but is more of a boy's name if that is what is concerning you about Quinn.

You might like Tarquin. It's from an ancient Roman name. British actor Laurence Olivier had a son named Tarquin. But I haven't come across it much and it deserves more attention than it gets. Just a thought. Good luck! :0)

I prefer Quinn to Quinton. I think Quinn is one of those unisex names that works well for both genders.

Another option is Quentin nn Quinn.

Quinton nn Quin gmv
Love Quentin better can see using Quin as a nn
Nothing wrong with just using Quinn for boys though, personally I still find it to be too masculine to give to girls despite the trend

I know plenty of boys named Quinn. I also know plenty of boys with unisex names like Avery and they don't care.

I would go with Quinton (or Quentin) nn Quinn. Even if it's considered unisex right now, a common pattern is for unisex names to swing heavily towards girls. Names like Skylar (currently #74 for girls, #921 for boys), Taylor (#192 for girls, #643 for boys), Avery (#19 for girls, #210 for boys), etc were all once more popular as boys names. And looking at the Social Security Name database, Quinn is currently ranking #80 for girls (has jumped dramatically in the past 10 years), and #405 for boys (has been declining in the past 10 years), which I would personally peg as more of an established girls name.
Also I like Quinton a lot! And I think it's always good to give children more options with their names.

Thanks all. And yeah I agree Alyeska. I don't mind a unisex name, it's just I wouldn't want to give him a name that will completely go feminine as he grows. Like how Ashley became very feminine when it was originally a boy name.

Quinton is winning so I think we're going to do Quinton nn Quin/Quinn. Thanks all.
