Honest Opinions vs. On vs. Anna

I've seen mixed things about the name Anna. I like Anna Joyce for my daughter but I'm worried people hate the name Anna and find it boring. I think it's a super cute name that ages nicely and Annie is an adorable nick name in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

It's a beautiful, simple, timeless, elegant name. There are a couple of 12-year-olds on this site who whine about every name being "boring" but Anna is lovely and not even common these days.

My first name is Hannah and I have met an insanely large number of Hannah's and Anna's growing up .. I don't even turn when I hear my name anymore bc there's so many people with those names around of all ages everywhere. We all had to go by nn or surnames in classes growing up. I say this only to express I wish that I had a more original name for myself.

My name is Anna. I love it. It's timeless, everyone knows how to spell it and say it.

I've met a few Anna's but I never had another one in any classes growing up. I work with one other Anna now, but she's about 10 years older than me. I think it works on every age.

I personally have never met an Anna myself, only nicknames for Anastasia and that was one. I'm an Alexandra who goes by Ally and the amount of Ally's, Allie's, Ali's etc is insane. I appreciate your feedback, but I don't think that will be a problem since I don't like Anna is that popular anymore

Anna is one of my alltime favorite names. It was a strong contender for my first girl. (We ended up using an -anna name that also honored a family member.)
It's a classic, has a nice meaning (grace), and pairs well with a host of other names. Anna Joyce is wonderful! Please stick with it!

I don't find it boring. Anna is elegant and simple, but not plain. Anna has a healthy self-esteem and independence.

Sorry I find it extremely boring because my taste is more edgy. But it's plain . It's nothing exciting about it .

Don't let anyone deter you from naming your kid what you want! When all our time is up, what's going to matter? The happiness with your Anna or the opinions of strangers? My motto is life is too short to care about others opinions, and Anna is perfectly fine to use. It will cause her no trouble and is a normal name. Choose what will make you happy because it's your life and your baby. Anyone that hates it isn't going to raise her, you are. You have to call her her name like 99% of her life, use something you love to hear

Perfect name! Both sophisticated and girl-next-door (in a good way). Both classic and spunky. Simple and not frilly, but that does not equal boring. I can see it fitting on any type of girl or woman, of any age. If you like nicknames, Annie is adorable for a little one, and Anna is also adorable without a nickname. Please use it! Good luck.
