Koa, yes.
nn Koko no. It's too cutsie and feminine, like the kind of nn that a mom embarrasses a kid with and he doesn't want anyone to hear it ever

I think it's fine if it's an occasional little family thing. Honestly it's hard to not make up a million little nicknames for a baby. That's different than official, long-term nicknames like Maddy for Madeline and Lily for Lilian. They won't stick when they're older. Koa is short enough that I don't think anyone but his parents will be calling him Koko.

I love Koa for a boy! It's an especially good name if surfing is a hobby of yourself or the dad. I don't like much care for Koko though.

I love Koa and nickname Koko. I've only heard of Koko for a boy. And if it is feminine, who cares? Girls get named extremely manly names all the time. What's wrong with being feminine?

Koko on a boy? The same person keeps going around with this same argument, " Girls get named extremely manly names."
Koko is very femme and to answer, "Who cares?"some ppl do care.
