Thoughts on vs. Junie

We don't know if our baby is a boy or a girl but we like junie as a nickname for either. Is it too girly or too young to be a lifelong nickname? Older daughter: Ana Elena Dulce "last name" If a boy "Junie" would be Alejandro Javier Reyes "last name" Junior and if a girl would be June Guadalupe Itzel "last name". Another thing to consider is that we want one more baby after this one. If we pick Junie and had a girl, then baby 3 was a boy he'd be the name above and called Javi. I worry Javi and Junie might be too similar. If we end up with three girls they'd Ana, Junie, and Mary. A girl and two boys would be Ana, Junie, and Xavier.

Doubt Junior is going to want to be called Junie in front of his school friends, that'll be too cutesie/girlie the moment his elementary age friends hear you call him that.
Junie will work fine for a girl and a lot of people here can't stand when siblings share the same initials but I like Javi, plus it has an H sound in Javier so Junie and what sounds like Havi are plenty different.

I like Junie for both. For a girl it makes me think of Junie B. Jones and for a boy it makes me think of spy kids. Both cool.

Definitely not Junie for a boy outside of the house. It's a cute 'family only' nn for mom to call him but not to be used in public.

I think Junie is cute for both and if they don't like it's just a nickname and they're names give a lot of other options to switch it up.

My brother was Mattie until college and now people who knew him young still call him Mattie and people who met him later call him Matthew/Matt

Junie is to girly for a boy. I would use June nn Junie for a girl.

It is too old and very girly. I would only use Junie as a nickname for the full name June for a girl. Would not use it at all for a boy.

Extremely girly. A mom at home only sort of nn if using it for Junior. Huge difference in Matty and Junie lmao, especially with how common June is becoming for girls lately.

I love when people lose their shiz over a nickname as if the kid can't drop it

Junie and Javi aren't the least bit similar except for being spelled with the same first letter. Junie is pronounced with a J sound (palatal sound) while Javi is pronounced with an H sound.

Junie for a girl is fine, I would use Juno for a boy.
