James "Jem" vs. Jeremy "Jem" vs. Jeremiah "Jem"
Love the nickname Jem for a little boy. It would be silly on a grown man though, so he needs a "real" name. These are the three I've heard of that can work for Jem, and I like all three. Which is your pick?
The Top Baby Name is...
James "Jem"
Jeremy "Jem"
Jeremiah "Jem"

Jem is basically Jim. Just a more vintage version. And I've known a boatload of grown men named Jim. It didn't seem silly on any of them. So neither would Jem, in my opinion. In "To Kill a Mockingbird", Jem's full name is Jeremy.

Jem and Jemmy have been used as a nn for James for centuries, have also seen it tied to Jeremy which seems to be trending a bit. You could also try Jerome.

I love love love Jeremy nickname Jem, just like in To Kill a Mockingbird! Jeremiah, to me, sounds straight-up Amish, and Jem is doesn't make as much sense to me as a nickname for James as it does for Jeremy.

Jeremy is outdated, I like Jeremiah but it sounds very bibical so it depends if thats whats you want or not. James is timeless.

Jeremiah is handsome. Jem is just a nickname, not his legal name. Get over yourselves
