Scott vs. Opinions
I have always loved the name Scott, and every Scott that I've met is a heartthrob. People tell me that this name is "old man," but the oldest Scott I know is 34. Is Scott a good name? My son is due in April.

I think it's nice. It's one of those names that won't be too popular in this age group, yet everyone can recognize, spell and pronounce it. Good choice!

Yes, Scott is fine. I don't think of it as "old man" but neither is it trendy.

I have always liked Scott. It isn't popular now but who cares. I am seeing many great grandfather's names coming back. Names go in cycles. Just because it is not in the top 100 doesn't make it an old man name. Who knows in the next few years it might be popular again. All it takes is a celebrity to use the name or a character in a hit series named Scott and suddenly you have a popular name.

I wouldn't call it a "heartthrob" name, but it's a perfectly fine name for a boy.

"Old man" names are coming back into style. Scott also feels a bit timeless I don't think you can go wrong with this name.

I see it as a Gen X name. I know several guys named Scott and they're all in their 50s. With that said, it doesn't preclude it from being a nice name for a child now. You love it, that's what matters.

I love the name Scott. I'm cracking up, though, that folks are calling it an old man name and yet names like Henry, Noah, Wallace, Walter, and George are all the rage. Go for it...it's handsome and "new" again.
