Callum vs. Calum

How is this name traditionally spelled? Is it one or two Ls? Our first child is named Damien after the Saint and we wanted to keep that trend. We really like this name Calum/Callum and thought we were pretty much set on it and then someone brought to my attention how similar it is to callus. Has anyone else made this association and do you think kids will make this association and tease him?

Calum is traditional, its a Scottish Gaelic form of Columba, meaning dove. Callum is a popular varation.

Don't think anyone will associate it was callus I grew up with lots of friends called Callum and none of them ever got made fun of, it's a lovely name!

Btw, Columba, also called Colum, or Columcille, was also a saint, if that fits your theme.
