Elliott/Elliot/Eliot is masculine. Just because it contains Ellie doesn't mean it's feminine. The same goes for Madison.

Someone of you need to realize whether a name sounds masculine or feminine is just an opinion, not a fact. I prefer Elliott with two ls and two ts.

I'm naming my daughter Alexander and my son will be Emily.

Elliot, in any form, is a boy's name.
A daughter doesn't deserve to be abused my her parent(s).

Evelyn in any form is also a boys name. So much abuse has been happening for decades.

Who cares? Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Is this YOUR child?
2. How does a girl named Elliott affect your life?
3. Are you seriously going to lose sleep over the parents' decision to use Elliott?

Both look terrible for a girl. Completely masculine.

Tough crowd tonight. Didn't know I had to clarify that mean and rude comments would be ignored and I'd have to ask grown adults (I assume adults?) to be kind. It's no wonder my middle schooler and her friends deal with the meanest girls I've ever heard of, if this is how grown women react to someone asking for help on the spelling of their future baby's name. Good night. Hope you all have a fabulous evening.

Ella for a girl.
Elliot is masculine, fact, not opinion, has been for 100s of years.

For this name, I prefer to have the L's and the T's match, so either Eliot or Elliott.
