Atlas vs. For a boy vs. For a girl

My partner and I want to give our child a travel-themed name and we really like Atlas. We don't know the gender yet - is Atlas suitable for either gender or is it more masculine/feminine?

There are far better more imaginative options

Isra is a girl name meaning night journey.

Euodia is a girl name meaning good journey.

Faramund is a boy name derived from the Old German elements fara "journey" and munt "protection".

Faro is a boy name meaning journey.

I think Atlas works well for a boy. Nothing too feminine about it for a girl. All I picture is my dad using an atlas, so it sticks to me as masculine.

Are there any places you particularly love traveling too? Could you honor something there for a boy or a girl?

The consensus definitely seems to be that we should only use Atlas if we have a boy. We do also like the suggestion of Everest for a boy.
We're a little lost on a girl name, maybe Aspen or Sailor?

Atlas for a boy and Aspen for a girl sounds great to me! Or even another mythical name for a girl, like Pandora or Ceres
