I think of Vicky as an older nickname (over 50 yrs old) and Tori as a younger nickname. But I don't know any Victoria's under 20 who use a nickname.

At one time, Vicky was more common. But Tori overtook that status some years ago. To me, Vicky is bit more retro now, which is not a bad thing. Tori, having been most popular more recently, is starting to just sound dated. Of the two, I like Vicky more. But Vix is actually my current favorite.

Vicky is more common I think, although I think it was used as a stand-alone name a lot in the boomer generation. I voted Tori because I prefer that before I read the question. I think Tori is a lot prettier and less dated.
