Neavh vs. yes vs. no
We love the name pronounced n-eve. We don't like the original Irish spelling Niamh. We thought about Neve but realized it may get pronounced Nev because of Neve Campbell. We were suggested Nieve but every time my husband looks at it, he thinks about the word 'naive'. We both like Neavh but have been told nothing but negative things about the spelling.

If I had not read the intro, then I would have thought Neavh was pronounced nev or nee-av. Nieve I have only heard as the word snow in Spanish, which is pronounced kind of like nyeh-beh. Other than in the case of Neve Campbell, I have always pronounced and heard Neve pronounced neev. So I would just use the Neve spelling.

If you have to explain how to pronounce it then I wouldn't use it. It will always be pronounced wrong, and probably spelled wrong too.

I thought it was a typo of Neveah, sorry. Really, really dislike Neavh.
I can understand not wanting to use the Niamh spelling. But other than Neve, which I've always heard as "neev," I dislike any other spelling. It's just a guess but I've always wondered if the actress' parents were confused with the Spanish Nieves. I once heard her say it means snow. Anyway, Neve is now pretty well established as "neev."
You're going to have pronunciation issues with the name any way you spell it. So you might as well go for the most common Anglicized form: Neve. Good luck! :0)

I agree with FredaCat. Thought it was Neveah misspelled.

Yeah, start over. I like the idea of an "N" first name then using Eve as a middle name then calling her Neve as a nickname.
