It sounds so much like a girls name because of all the girls being given names that start with Mc/Mac and because Kai is a girls name. I might stay away from any girly sounding names for a boy...

i like it spelled mekhi. i think a little easier to pronounce, because people may say "mckay." i agree that the "mc" names are trendy for girls right now, but i do like the name mekhi for a boy. good luck!

I don’t like it at all for a boy. Mekhi looks even worse though, because everyone would say it ’MEKK-ee’ instead. McKai is the way to go for spelling, but not for a boy.

I know several little boys named Kai (rhymes with eye), and I like it o.k. but the Mc at the front just seems goofy to me, and I agree it will cause confusion.
