I don't know what your definition of recently is but Riley has ranked for girls since the 1990s. And there are tons of names that are masculine in origin that are now exclusively used for girls. There is a lot to be mad in the world about parents naming a girl Riley or Avery isn't one of them

Names DO have genders. You wouldn't
name your son Charlotte, wouldn't you? Why use James for a girl? Those are American name stats. I'm not American. You cannot change the origins or meanings of names. All of these names are originally--and still masculine. Typical American behavior.

You wouldn't name your son Evelyn. Doesn't matter that it is originally male.

My middle name is Addison, when it started to get trendy in the 90s. My mother was a trend follower lol. Unfortunately, despite people's rather specific belief, I don't hate myself and scold my mother everyday for wishing I was a boy apparently. Can't believe I didn't realize until just now that my mother failed me so bad, you know other than taking care of me and giving me everything I needed, because she gave me the middle name Addison. She must hate me.
Lol sarcasm aside, I like Riley. Who cares what people think. Least it's not Robert or something

I like Avery and Riley for boys. Too masculine imo for a girl.
Madison is better in the first name for a girl.

Riley is masculine in its origins. It's only been recently given to girls.
Madison means "SON of Matthew/Maud." The only reason Madison is used for girls is because of the 80s movie "Splash."
Use an ACTUAL GIRLS name, not just a man's name.
