Dallin used on a non-Mormon vs. little boy?

We love the Dallin for our little boy. We've only heard this name used by the Mormons. However, we are not Mormon, but we live in a Mormon area outside of the US. Is it still usable? Would you assume a person named Dallin is Mormon?

I have never heard that. People borrow names all of the time. If you like it use it.

I've never heard the name before, therefore I would have no assumptions about you. If you were in my area, I would say definitely usable. In your case, it could be different but it's probably still ok. People might assume you are Mormon, I don't know, and I don't know how much people's incorrect assumptions might bother you or your son.
Allen, Dallas, Dalton, Talon, and Dylan are similar names you might like if you decide not to proceed with Dallin.
