Ren vs. Renn vs. Rhen

Hi, we are due with a little girl soon and we please need help deciding on the spelling of this name! We need other people to decide for us so we don't end up hating each other (only slightly joking 😂). Also, what do you think of this name for a girl? I know it is used for boys so it for sure works on either gender, right? Ugh, I have no idea anymore, haha! Please help! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Hi all, thank you for the comments. I see that there is a lot of love for Wren! Is it too linked to the bird, though? I am for sure open to using Wren if you think we can use an animal name, haha. We have actually also considered Renna/Wrenna, if you like those? To be honest, I want to go with whatever other people like best to save her as many spelling issues as possible.

I also think Wren is the best spelling. It's a word name so it is linked to the bird, in the same way Rose is linked to the flower and Autumn is linked to the season. It's not a big deal.

Wren is becoming a moderately popular name now. It entered the top 1000 in the US in 2012 and is now the 184th most popular girl name. None of the spellings listed above are in the top 1000, so Wren is going to be the easiest spelling to wear.

Hi J,CandR, thank you for the comment. I understand that Rose is linked to a flower, and Violet is linked to a color, but is being linked to an animal the same as a flower/color? I am concerned about that. I guess I am alone in that worry, though, since it's in the top 200 names! Again, thank you for the feedback.

Wren looks a lot prettier to me.

Wren is my 7 year old granddaughters name. It is working well for her. It is the only version of this name that I would use. It is slightly popular currently.
I especially dislike endings added to it.

It looks like Wren is the winner based on the comments - my poll is a dud 😂.

Along with Wren, we are considering Wyn/Wynn/Wynne. I was going to do a separate poll later, but may aswell throw the question to the comments: What spelling of Wyn/Wynn/Wynne do you like for a girl? I am probably leaning towards Wynn as Wyn looks a little incomplete, and Wynne looks like it would be pronounced with a long 'I' sound - 'wine'.

Thank you!

Wren. The other options all look like you don't know how to spell, sorry

Ren makes me think of Ren & Stimpy (not attractive). Wren, the bird, is a much more pleasant image. People have used the name Robin for years, and more recently I've seen Raven, Lark, and Dove so I don't think a bird connection would be seen as a bad thing. I think people in general are expanding their searches of "nature names" to include things like animals (Wren, Fox, etc.), gems (Ruby, Emerald, etc.), and geographic features (River, Meadow, Lake, etc.) beyond the typical flower/botanical names (Rose, Violet, Laurel, etc.)

For what it's worth, my friend's middle name "win" is spelled Wynne. I would definitely not pronounce it wine or winnie. Wynne is just like Lynne to me.
