Elyas vs. Elias

Hi! So if I have a boy I really really REALLY love the name Elias/Elyas! The pronunciation is (el-LEE-yas) not (el-LIE-yas) as I am Arab and want him to have the Arabic version! I like the look of Elias more but I feel like it could get confused as the American version! Elyas looks more like the pronunciation I want. Let me know in the comments!! Thank you!!

As a native-born American, I honestly don't think Elyas conveys the pronunciation any better. My first reaction is ELL-yas, and then the more common pronunciation of Elias. If you like the spelling of Elias more, go for it!
