Lela vs. Thoughts?
Hey guys, please could you leave in the comments all of your thoughts on the name Lela. We find it really sweet but worry it could be seen as maybe too cutesy? We have also seen the spelling Leela but for some reason the double ee isn't something I am a big fan of. Leighla is another we have seen but to us that looks odd. What are your opinion on Lela? This would be the spelling we would use and we would also be saying lee-luh. Thanks!

Are you going for Lay-luh or Lee-luh? Lela will most likely be pronounced like lay-luh. Either way I would go for the spelling that isn't going to make people constantly mispronounce her name.

It's a little too cutesy for me. I also don't care for Leila/Layla but I do like Lila, so go figure. I would definitely know to pronounce it Lee-la, though.

Why in the world would Lela ever be pronounced as Layla??? Disregard that person. I don't find Lela too cutesy at all. It's elegant & sweet. It's also uncommon which I like. I also agree with your comments on Leighla and Leela. You've definitely chosen the best spelling.

I guess I'm in the minority here but to be honest I agree with the pronounciation issue here - I had to read your post carefully to realize you were going for Leela. I mean if people are saying it's fine if might just me, lol, but personally I would spell is Leela. It's a really pretty name.

I have only heard Lela pronounced Lee-luh, so I think you're good. I don't get the whole Layla misunderstanding some users seem to have.
