Marc vs. Mark

Which spelling is best? And what’d be a good middle name? I was thinking Andrew, but am not sure it has the right flow. I like older, western-like names if you’d like to suggest some others...

I personally LOVE the name Mark Cohen. It has a lovely ring to it, plus it reminds me of one of my favorite musicals!

Marc is short for Marcus. Mark is just Mark.

Marc is not short for Marcus; it’s a different spelling of Mark (it’s the Latin spelling, now associated with the French spelling).

Marc Andrew is a wonderful name! Just like the famous Admiral Marc Andrew Mitscher, who was a very high-ranking and decorated American Navy commander in World War 2.

I think Marc is a more dignified and sophisticated spelling of the name.

I’ve lived 24 years with the name Marc, middle name Anthony, and couldn’t be happier. It really is the way to go.

Wow - I’m a Mark Andrew (Andrew middle name), so it’s pretty cool to see that someone else thought of that. Rarely did anyone ever say my middle name (just when I was being scolded), but I still think it sounds ok. Think about the initials. My last name begins with A, so MAA isn’t that great...but if your last name begins with a D or a P or an N, that could be...something. Oh well, your baby’s probably born by now.

Marc, since it’s my name. Same with my friend Rebecca, "C" over "K" anyday!

Mark. Because the Marc spelling looks trendy, and if you wanted to call him Marky or Marcky you still have to add a K because it looks Feminine as Marcy.
