Diane vs. Diana
I was originally keen on Diane, however later I realized Diane was more dated than Diana. Diana still hasn't ever grown on me and still prefer the calmer sound of Diane. Is it too old fashioned that Diana would be better these days?

Both names are very dated..Not a fan at all
I've known younger people called Diane so that feels like the more youthful one to me.

Diana has sort of made a more of a comeback than Diane imo. Though I really don't think it matters. Diane and Diana are both considered old fashioned but there isn't anything wrong with that. Choose the one you like more. Go with Diane. It's beautiful.

Choose the one you love! If it hasn't grown on you, definitely don't use it. There's nothing wrong with Diane.

Well, first, i think if you love a name and it's not inappropriate or vulgar, you should use it. I also don't think of names as "dated" as it's quite a subjective assessment.
My personal preference is for Diana as it's pretty and the subconscious reference to princess diana is not a bad one to me. I do find the name diane rather boring but that's jmho. GL!
