I actually think Maggie Marie sounds better even though they both begin with M. With Gemma Marie, the M sound repeats itself.
GemMa Marie. Just say them out loud a few times.

Gemma ends with the same sound Marie begins with. Maggie Marie sounds better in my opinion.

Jem-muh muh-ree has the same sound repeated twice, right after the other. So Maggie Marie gets my vote.

I agree that Gemma Marie sounds too repetitive. Maybe Jenna Marie instead?

Unless it's a double first name and you are calling her "X Marie" on a daily basis, it doesn't matter how it sounds. Just a middle name. Gemma is a prettier and cooler name than Maggie.

I would keep looking. Maggie is a nickname and doesn't flow with Marie
