I don't think Atlas is out there. The name is becoming more commonly used and is pretty widely accepted.

I love Archer and I like Hunter and Atticus, but I'm not a big fan of Atlas. It sounds commercial to me.

I like Atticus and Atlas, but if you're concerned that Atlas is too "out there", I think Archer is your answer. It's a cool name, but not going to shock anyone.
