Jacob vs. Yakov vs. Yacob/Jakob

We want to honor my grandfather who was named Jacob (pronounced Yakov). We are trying to decide the best way to spell it or if this is too out there in the US. We don't mind if it is mispronounced sometimes (we would just correct people) but we want him to have the traditional (Hebrew) pronunciation. Which would you go with or would you go with another name entirely?

I would spell it Jakob to indicate that it's not quite the Anglo name people are used to.

It is spelt Yakov/Jakov in a number of countries/languages, though, so he might not even be the only one with the pronunciation, depending on where you live.

Yakov would make the most sense to me as an English-speaker in the US. However, I'm aware of the Hebrew pronunciation of Jacob so it really wouldn't be hard to adjust and call a certain Jacob "Yakov." But not everyone is going to take the time to get it right. If it's his first name and you are in the US, Yakov might make his life easier. If it's for a middle name, feel free to stick with the original spelling and just say it the way your grandfather did.
