Ira vs. Totally unusable vs. It's handsome
I truly love the name Ira for a boy. Easily recognised, easy to spell, not overly popular - I love it. My husband on the other hand is hesitating. He agrees it is a nice name but worries it is too dated. Please hit me with all of your opinions. My husband says if the feedback isn't people confirming his worry he would consider adding to our list. Let us know, Ira - usable or too dated? Thank you.

Love it. It's one of those old man names that are already making a comeback. You'd be ahead of the curve with this one.

I love it.I wouldn't hesitate using it. It is short,easy to spell, handsome,and not babyish. It would feel right at all stages of life.

Sure, it's dated but lots of dated names are in now: Eleanor, Hazel, Vivian, etc. Dated isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think of musician Ira Gershwin. I wouldn't call Ira handsome (just a matter of personal preference) but I definitely wouldn't call it unusable.
