Megan vs. Meghan
I have always loved the name Megan, pronounced as "Meh-guhn". My only issue is potentially appropriating Welsh culture. See, I am from the USA with no Welsh ties whatsoever. I realize that the name has been commonly used in the USA for years, but it originated from Wales. Do you think that it's a bad idea to name my daughter this name? I don't want to appropriate cultures at all! Please, definitely answer if you're Welsh, because I definitely want your input. Do you think that Meghan is a good alternative if Megan is appropriation?

I would advise you to use the authentic Welsh spelling Megan. If you're going to use a name from another culture, the least you can do is respect the tradition of that culture by spelling and pronouncing the name correctly.
Meghan is an attempt to "Irish up" a Welsh name so it's really a made up version of an legitimate name.
