I prefer Lori as a nn. If you aren't in love with the usual option, Laura, how about Lorelei or even Elinor? Good luck! :0)

I suppose anything can be (and is being) used as a formal name these days but I myself prefer it as a nn. Lorraine would be pretty!

Yes, I only think of it as a full name. I'm nor sure I've seen it as short for anything else actually. I've always liked the name Lori.

It's pretty but I like FredaCat I prefer it as a nn for Lorelei or Elinor. Laurel would also work as a full name.

It doesn't sound too much like a nick name but I think it's way to dated. It's not ready for a comeback yet cause every other 65 year old woman's name is Lori.
